Nikki had her Nuno Scarf Felting Class at the Vernon Community Arts Centre:
Nikki's scarf she made whilst demonstrating during the class!
It was a huge success and the ladies loved it! Nikki will be doing more classes at the Vernon Community Arts Centre if you are interested and would like to attend :)

Practicing what Melissa taught me ...
On my wave of spinning and carding joy - I decided to try and mix some wild and sparkly bats and practice corespinning - two of the skills that the phenominal Melissa Nasby of Soul Fibre Studio taught me at one of our After Dark Fibre FUn Sessions. If you haven't yet checked out Miss Nasby you are in for a real treat! She is fun, energetic and absolutely amazing at anything she puts her mind or her talents too! Very well known for her needle felted masks, you can find her here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SoulFibre
So I played around with some fibre on my Wild Carder ...
And then I practiced corespinning and came up with this ...
It was SOOOO much fun! And I can't wait to do more! I'm even dreaming up fibre, colour, texture combinations that I can try!!
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
Big Hugs!

First Spinning of the New Year!
After fighting many germies over the festive season - I finally emerged on the other side and just last weekend managed to pull out my lovely Pipy spinning wheel which I purchased from the amazing Rita Winning of Praising the Lamb - who when I showed up for the first time to meet her and look at the wheels sat me down and taught me to spin! And ply! And how the wheels worked! She shared all her vast fibre knowledge with me and inspired me even further excited about the wonderful world of fibre I was so eager to enter ... she also spins the most beautiful lace-weight yarns and writes her own stunning patterns! You can find her talents here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Praising-the-Lamb/152605934803761
I digress ... here was my first spinning of the new year with my faithful doggy Badger by my side.

A Very Batty Weekend!
No, it was nothing like an October pre-Halloween weekend but one that involved lots of lovely outdoor winter fun as well as some cozy, by the fire spinning and playing around with the drum carder while sipping some delicious hot chocolate! Does it get any better?
I think not :)
I think not :)
This is some of the spinning ... I spun this from a beautiful batt that I purchased from the lovely and talented Kyla Turner of Ritual Fibre Arts - see her lovely goodies here at http://www.etsy.com/shop/RitualFibreArts
And these are the batts that came off of my Wild Carder ... I can't wait to do some more playing around on that one!
And to keep me company, curled up by the fire near the spinning wheel, was my furry and content companion. Meet Charlie everyone ...
Here's hoping all your adventures this past weekend were filled with much the same enjoyment!
